Project
When attempting to apply a dynamic to a chord after shift-clicking the chord, the dynamic will be applied to all notes in the chord by producing duplicate dynamics.
To replicate:
1) Create a chord of multiple notes
2) Shift-click the chord
3) Double-click a dynamic
Expected:
One dynamic appears below the chord.
Result:
A dynamic will appear for every note in the chord.
Comments
Confirmed. It's not just dynamics, it's all text, probably other elements besides. There is special handling for certain elements like articulations so this does not happen, but in general, for most elements, it will. Solution would be to not shift+click - just select a single note. But it's kind of a drag if you had wanted to make a selection across several staves.

Actually this seems a duplicate of #292475: Multiple text elements are added on a chord (well, really the other way round)
