Pitch of Notes
Using MuseScore v2.0.2 under Win 7 Pro
I'm resetting a song for Male voice.
I started by using the "Grand Staff" from the offered Template files.
I then replace the Treble Clef with an Octave Treble Clef and started to enter my notes BUT the pitch has not changed and I expected the pitch of the notes entered on the treble Clef to be an octave lower.
I expected the first note (c) to sound at the same pitch (middle C) as the single note I entered in the bass Clef but it doesn't.
Have I mis-understood what the Octave Treble Clef does?
Or have I made some other mistake?

You used the version with the parentheses around the 8, which I guess is for show only, and you'd have to set up the transposition yourself in Staff Properties. If you use the non-parenthesized octave clef, it should work as expected.

Thanks marc, I'm an idiot, just didn't notice I'd picked the wrong one.
So sorry for troubling you with such a silly mistake.
Off now to read your book on how to create my own template for entering such songs, I have about 450 to do and am already tired of starting with the Grand Staff each time and making the same alterations every time.
Best wishes to you and the other developers, It's great software.
I have a vague recollection of reading comments about amendments to Lyrics. Given what I'm doing, I've come across some limitations in the present use of Lyrics. Should these be logged in the "Feature requests" Forum or somewhere else?

You could use the 'normal' SATB template and delete the Soprano and Alto 'instrument', so you're left with Tenor and Bass staves, then save that in your personal templates folder and next time start creating your score from that.
