Add Automated Counting
Hello,
I'd like to create scores with automated counting (1) and hand setting (2) like in the pic.
The only workaround I imagined was to use special fingerings to invisible notes. Is there another way?
Thanks al lot!

for the numbering you could (mis-)use chord symbols (Ctrl+K), no need tor hidden notes there

thx for the quick reply. I read that. Chord symbols woun't work, because I want numbers also between notes, right?

...and its rather time-consuming to add for each note... - so there ain't a function I missed, right?

No such function is currently available, as far bas I know. Might be a task for a plugin.

Chord symbols should attach to beats, not notes, I think

you're right - but it won't look good with chord symbols due to the different format of note an text. thx again, jojo. Do you think I should make a proposal?

"different Format of note and text"? Sorry, I don't get it.
Looks fine to me, chord symbols for the numbers, lyrics for the Hand settings

Chord symbols will not automatically adjust to non-existant notes that shall be counted (count two in the second bar in my example) - so it will look a bit messy..

look at my example above, looks good to me.
Score attached too now

.. I'm intending to write a complete drumbook - so I'd like to have things very clean from the beginning...

and - no offence - your count 1 is slightly before the quarter in the first measure and perfect in the third measure.. such problems will probably increase when writing the book...

thx again - I'm of for a while...

Hmm, I see them perfectly centered with the notheads

Ah - you are right again :). i was viewing the the note stem. ok. I'll make a proposal to add the function in general and use your workaround for now. Thanks again very much.
If you go to Style / Text / Chord Symbol, you can set the font, size, and position of the chord symbols hwoever you like. And when entering the chord symbols, presisng ";" moves to the next beat regardless of what notes are in the measure. So really, all you need to do is enter one measure that way then copy and paste it as often as you like. No need for a special purpose new feature just to do this.

Your way works fine. Counting options by button would be a nice feature nevertheless, don't you think. One wouldn't have to do everything manually?! I made a purpose - but I can of course delete it if more experienced users than me recommend it.
