Je suis volontaire pour traduire de l'anglais vers le français
In reply to aider à la traductction by fred87
Fred87, The website has a few French pages that could be updated to incorporate the latest changes from the English version. I will let Lasconic and Jean-Louis Waltener give more details and instructions since they currently maintain the French translations.

I have given you the permissions to translate and edit french pages. On the translator assignment page, you will be able to see the status of the French translation. For the moment a few pages needs to be updates and one page has not been translated yet. Read the translation instructions how to translate pages.
Hi!
I just started a new translation of MuseScore into Hungarian, and it would be great if I could start translating the handbook too.
By the way, the download link of Qt Linguist for Windows users is broken: the right one for the complete Qt package is
http://www.qtsoftware.com/downloads/sdk-windows-cpp
but Linguist can be downloaded as a standalone application here:
http://www.qt-apps.org/content/show.php/Qt+Linguist+Download?content=89…

Hi Molnarm,
Thats great news about the translation. I will make all the preparations on the website so the handbook can be translated.
Thanks for reporting the bad link.
In reply to preparing Hungarian translation by Thomas
The Hungarian language is enabled. The first thing to do is to translate the teaser:
- go to http://musescore.org/node/1/translate
- click to add the hungerian translation
- replace all the English text with the translation
This procedure is exactly the same for the other normal and handbook pages.
A few strings need to be manually translated for the website:
- Free music composition & notation software
- Download Free - Now
- Licensed under the [Creative Commons Attribution 3.0] license, 2002-2009 Werner Schweer and others.
Could you post the translation in a comment for these strings?

All translated strings have been submitted: http://www.musescore.org/hu
I saw you translated the teaser page already. Great. Feel free to move on with all the other normal pages and handbook ones. I will add the normal pages to the menu, so don't worry, they wont pop up right away.
Once the handbook is complete, David will compile a pdf from it and check it into the repository so it will be available in the MuseScore package.

I fixed the link on the English Development page and marked translations as outdated.
Hello
I can see that this wonderful application is only partially translated into Danish and that no Danish translator is on this list. I would like to volunteer in translating musescore. I have a fair knowledge of the English language and is trained in music theory so I think I can make proper translations of the program.
If this is useful, please inform me how to update the translations.
Thanks
Kind regards
Morten Poulsen, Denmark
In reply to Danish translations by mortenpoulsen
Hi Morton,
We missed the person who started the Danish translation so I updated the list: swolff
There are 3 parts of the MuseScore project which can be translated: the software (~50% done), the website (~20% done) and the handbook (0% done).
The software to translate the software with is called QT Linguist and the file which should be opened in the software can be downloaded via this link.
The instructions for translating the website and the handbook translation instructions
If you have questions, don't hesitate to let us know.
Hi I would like to give my help in translating into Italian, I know you have two translators in my language, but I can give my long experience as wind band musician and I know terms that current translators may not know.(for instance in file instruments_it.xml) the piccolo flute has not been translated, whereas the correct term in italian is "Ottavino" - The Piccolo in Italy is the E flat clarinet.
I begin by offering to translate the whole file instruments_it.xml which is not complete
Ciao
Renato
In reply to Offer help in translating by renato_
Hi renato,
Feel free to attach your translations to a comment and we'll make sure it gets committed.
I also granted you access to translate menu and handbook pages. You will notice that a few pages are out of date or not translated.
In reply to instruments in Italian by Thomas
I'll try to figure out how this thing works and I'll begin!
In reply to Offer help in translating by renato_
Renato, It is important to work from the most recent copy of the instruments list in order to avoid duplication of effort. If you are not already using the prereleases here is a link to the latest version of the Italian instruments list:
//mscore.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mscore/trunk/mscore/share/templates/instruments_it.xml
For comparison here is a link to the latest version of the English instruments list:
//mscore.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/mscore/trunk/mscore/share/templates/instruments_it.xml
Please use the files linked above rather than the files included in version 0.9.4 which are several months old.
Hi,
I could help to translate to French. And I could make some suggestions about the documentation too. Would-you tell me
how to proceed ?
Thanks
Olivier
In reply to Documentation and help to translation by lholivier
Hi lolivier,
Welcome on board.
For information how to translate content on musescore.org, read the translation instructions .
Let me know if you would have more questions.
I have made a Czech translation of the manual. Can I send it to some mail adress of MuseScore?
vlasak.mir@seznam.cz
In reply to Czech translation of the manual by Vlasak
Hi Vlasak,
Thanks for creating the Czech translation. MuseScore.org indeed misses a lot of the Czech translation so your help is very very welcome.
We have an online translation workflow for putting in translations. I just granted your account access to translate all content on musescore.org to Czech. In order to get started, read the translation instructions first. It should be self explanatory but feel free to ask if you have problems. Don't hesitate to try some things out, the system can coop with that and we can follow your tracks as well in case anything goes wrong.
That being said, you might understand by now that the offline translation you made, has to be submitted online, page per page of the handbook. Could you send your translation to thomas dot bonte // gmail dot com? I'll have a look how things can be done easily and report back.
In reply to Online translation workflow by Thomas
Vlasak mailed me the handbook. I'll post it here in case someone wants to submit it in the online translation workflow.
