About spacer up and space down. Read if you wonder why MuseScore has both.
I just got a "master class" with Werner and asked him about the spacer down and up. Why these two spacers? Last version, MuseScore 1.3 had only the down one. To me, he added it because he can. Little did I know!
Spacers are attached to measures. So a user can add several spacers on a given system one per measure. MuseScore will space the system according to the larger spacer in the system. So if you have a high note, you want to add a spacer up in this measure to protect it, but if you have low note, you want a spacer down! If the score is layouted again and line breaks are different, the spacers will then protect the notes nicely!
It has been a revelation for me, so I just wanted to share it :)

I had the same impression as you, but of course now that you explain it, it does make sense.
Thank you for sharing that Nicolas :)
Something I will no doubt find useful.
Of course...
