Repeat and fade
Am using MuseScore One. I want to repeat and fade in the last four bars of a song.
After reading the handbook and forum I still cannot do it. Can I get some help?

You can repeat and you can fade, but you can't fade and repeat, like reducing velocity from one repeat to another

I am not a musician. Using MuseScore is very difficult for me. I do not want to play anything. I just want to know how to put in the signs.
I am digressing here. How do I know what version of MuseScore I am using?

As to "how to put in the signs," the usual way to do that would be to add a piece of text that says "Repeat and fade". ;-)

Keep in mind, the whole point of MuseScore is to produce beautiful looking scores for human musicians to read. Computer playback is just an adjunct to that goal. Not everything you can put into a score for human musicians to read will affect playback. The words "Repeat and fade" will be sufficient for the human musicians.

People,
I have no problem with"repeat and fade"
But I have already inserted chord symbols at the top and lyrics at the bottom.
So how/where am I going to put in the words "repeat and fade?"

I'd have a slight preference for above—higher than the chord symbols.

Add it as staff text (Ctrl+T) to the first note of the first measure - or last note of last measure if that works better - then drag it up / down sideways (or use arrow keys or Inspector for more precise control over position). The actual position is up to you. I personally tend to go above the staff for things like that too, but it depends on the specifics of the score, where I think it will fit best, where it will be most clearly visible.

Thanks to all of you for suggestions.
Special thanks to Marc. Ctrl+T did the job.

I'd rather use Strl+Shift+T, System Text. Makes a difference when usong parts.
And I'd position it between chord symbols and staff, basically at the place where usually voltas appear, but that's pretty much a personal thing.

Yes, if parts are involved (eg, separate parts for each instrument in a score), definitely use system text - good point. Same basic idea, but the text will be copied to each generated part.
