Musescore seems to slow down my computer.

Hi.

I have no idea what is happening, but it seems that Musescore is slowing down my computer massively. This seems to happen if I have Musescore loaded but have not accessed it for some period. Some times my system appears to just lock up, and it may take 2/4 minutes to switch programs. Then these programs will be massively slow. When I go to task manager, the only large process seems to be SYSTEM IDLE, which is in the neighbourhood of 90+ percent.

Musescore shows as 2 or 3%, as do all other programs I have running.

This happened again this morning when I booted Musescore to check a comment in the forums. I looked at the "Piano Roll" aspect, which I had not noticed before. I have 4 scores opened, 3 of them 1 page lead sheets and one a 2 page simple piano score. I performed no other functions other than to follow instructions as to how to find the piano roll feature and look at it. I backed out of that feature and left Musescore booted and went to my browser, email, etc. After about 1 hour or so, my computer suddenly became extremely sluggish.

I think it is Musescore because I have selectively removed all programs one by one, and the problem disappears only when I close Musescore.

I am sorry that I have no other information. Perhaps others share this problem and may be able to shed some light.

Best regards,

I forgot to add that the hard drive is being constantly accessed when this happens although I have nothing that I have selected to access the hard drive. I am religious about my virus protection and scan my computer daily with Microsoft Security Essentials, and 1 or 2 times a week with Malwarebytes and Superantispyware.
