Part generation with repeats
Suppose a score has one staff with a melody part composed of 8 repeated measures. An accompaniment part has 16 distinct measures. Is there a way to generate separate parts for the melody and accompaniment so that the melody is written as 8 measures with repeat barlines, and the accompaniment is written with 16 measures without repeat barlines?

No, parts are assumed to have the same structure. And really, it is best that way - nothing confuses rehearsals more than when I (as the director) say "let's take it from the second time through the repeat" and half the band says "I don't have a reopeat on my part" and we waste the next several minutes figuring out where things sync up.
But if you really need to do this, you can save a part separately and modify it.
