Understanding voltas (repeats)
I need help understanding voltas.
In the attached file I want the first ending for the first three repeats. Then I want the last ending for the fourth and final repeat.
My problem is that the playback stops after the first three repeats.

Check a) the repeat list for the voltas (in inspector) and b) the play count of the measure with the end repeat barline (in measure properties, needs to be 4 in this case)

I can't currently, being away from my computer. But I'd bet it to be one of the 2 things I mentioned

I'm sorry, but you were absolutely right about the play count.
I found it unintuitive to set the play count to 4 on the bar I wanted to be played only 3 times (first ending). Now I think I understand that the play count is how many times I want the whole section to be played.
It works fine now. Thank you very much for your help!

May be unintuitive, but is that way ever since and documented that way too ;-)

Yes, maybe it is documented that way, but I didn't understand the documentation in the handbook correctly.
