Muted notes on Tablature Staffs
I can see that shift x creates a dead note, but this is not represented in the playback. Is there a way for this to be represented in the playback? Thanks

You can give those notes a velocity setting to make them (almost) silent

Thanks for the help! I am not quite sure how to do that, would you be able to briefly explain? Thank you!

Select the note, in the inspector (F8) you can then either use the velocity offset type with a negative value to make the note softer compared to its normal velocity value; or you can set the velocity type to absolute and directly provide a velocity value ([0-127]).

Sorry, but I have set it to -2 and it hasn't made any difference? Bit confused. Thanks.

An Offset of -2 is very little (in a range of +/- 127), I don't think it would make an audible difference. Try -16 or -32 or some such. Or some User value, 0-127

I have tried -16, -32 and -127. Still none of them making a difference to the sound. Thanks

hmm.. ISTR that single note dynamics somehow messed this up.. but don't cleanly remember
[EDIT:] found it; https://musescore.org/en/node/306291#comment-1004058
So changing the instrument sound in the mixer to be the non-expr one might do the trick.

I cannot seem to work out how to do this? If you could let me know that would be really appreciated, thanks!

How can an instrument notated in Tablature be not non-expessive?
There is no Guitar sound that would be expressive as far as I know

Here it is, I want to mute the quarter notes on the final barre. Thank you.

There is no barre?
Not is there a note in the final bar/measure?
Hmm, anyway, I guess I see what you mean: changing a note's velocity on the tablatur staff doesn't have any effect, but changing it on the normal staff does!
So regardless it being linked staves, this property is not linked, this certainly is a bug.
Feel free to report it in the issue tracker
Edit: thanks for #307133: Changing Velocity of a note in a linked Tablature Staff doesn't work
