change key signature
i tried to understand this from the handbook, but am unclear as to what to do. I have a new piece which will have different keys signatures throughout. how do i change or add a key signature? would appreciate a step by step response so i can follow. Thank you all again. Philip

thanks. for some reason when i put in signatures in the search i did not see this. i saw a lot dealing with inspector, etc. which seemed inappropriate.

Select an existing key sig, then hit F1: voila, the keysig handbook page magically shows...
Then go about and read the entire handbook once front to back. I guarantee you that this will be time well spent.

i see what happened. when i went to palettes then key signature i only saw the 3 dots and what i found there seemed inappropriate; forgot you have to type key or the like into the little box.

no idea what little box you may be talking about. The palette has all 'normal' key sigs, the 3 dots may show some unusual custome ones

this is i guess an example of communication difficulties. on the palette menu to the right of the words key signature are three horizontal dots. as i said, i forgot i had to type "key" into the box at the top of the palette menu to get the regular signature options to open.

Just double click on the palette titled "Key signatures" (or single click on the > left of that title), it is the 2nd palette, no need searching for it

And to be clear, that's how all the palettes work - double click the name, or single click the arrow, to open them.
