No palettes available on MS 3.3.4 Linux

• Jul 7, 2020 - 18:30

I have lost all palettes after the last upgrade. I am currently on version 3.3.4 on an ArchLinux 64 system
The command line output shows:

Cyclic dependency detected between "file:///usr/lib/qt/qml/org/kde/kirigami.2/styles/org.kde.desktop.plasma/Units.qml" and "file:///usr/lib/qt/qml/org/kde/kirigami.2/styles/org.kde.desktop.plasma/Units.qml"
qrc:/qml/palettes/PaletteTree.qml:539:5: QML Connections: Implicitly defined onFoo properties in Connections are deprecated. Use this syntax instead: function onFoo() { ... }

[previous line repeated about 40 times, then:]

qrc:/qml/palettes/PalettesWidgetHeader.qml:128:5: QML Connections: Implicitly defined onFoo properties in Connections are deprecated. Use this syntax instead: function onFoo() { ... }
qrc:/qml/palettes/PalettesWidgetHeader.qml:120:5: QML Connections: Implicitly defined onFoo properties in Connections are deprecated. Use this syntax instead: function onFoo() { ... }
qrc:/qml/palettes/PaletteTree.qml:152: Error: Cannot assign to non-existent property "color"
qrc:/qml/palettes/Palette.qml:551:13: QML Connections: Implicitly defined onFoo properties in Connections are deprecated. Use this syntax instead: function onFoo() { ... }

[the last line is again repeated about 60/70 times, then Musescore starts with no palettes]

Full output appended below. Help appreciated.

(I checked the forums and found other posts on this issue but none seem to apply. They refer to previous versions' issues that have been apparently fixed).

Generally this means your system is missing or has the wrong version of some library or other resource that MuseScore depends on. As mentioned, the AppImage is designed to solve this. Are you using that, or trying to rely on some third-party-built version of MuseScore? Those often have issues.

I noticed kde in your log. I know that back then mirabilos had to create a special package for neon users due to different dependencies.

But do keep in mind that the only official supported package is the AppImage.
