Repeat previous 2 and 4 measures are currently being developed

Reoeat measures symbols are used fairly often in music that makes extensive use of this type of repetition, regardless of instrument. It comes up more often in pop/rock/jazz for "rhythm section" instruments, indeed, but it is also relevant in, for example, minimalist classical musical. One line of thought is that in addition to saving space, it also simplifies reading because you don't have to actually check to see that the notation is the same as the previous measure.
