How to slow down playback
I just discovered Musescore to help me playback and learn Piano exercise scores.
How might I slow down the play rate while keeping the same pitch.

For what you want, a temporary slowdown, use the play panel (press f11 to see it) and slow down the tempo so it's a comfortable speed. You can then easily speed it up until your at full tempo.

Hey, thanks for the Play panel "temporary slowdown" tip!
However on the Mac I find that F11 is dedicated to system volume.
So I use View>Play panel

On Mac you always press cmd before an F key inside a program. Us windows users don't have to do that and are so egotistical that we forget people use other operating systems ;-)

Actually, I think it might be Fn, not Cmd? Also, FWIW, it's not just a Mac thing, many Windows keyboards can be configured that way, I think most often via a BIOS setting. Not sure if any come configured that way by default.
