Recurring note patterns alternate notation
Hi all,
I am entering "Eine kleine Nachtmusik" by Mozart into Musescore.
The print compresses repetitive 16th note patterns into half notes connected by 16th note beams.
Can anyone tell me how to enter this into Musescrore?
Thanks.

These are tremolos. To get what looks like 1/2 notes connected by 16th note stems, enter 1/4 notes and apply the 16th between notes tremolo to the first note only (MuseScore will update the display). If you want the "beams" connected to the notes, select it and open the inspector (F8) and set Stroke style to "All strokes attached to stems" you can press the S to the right of this option to apply it to all applicable tremolos in the score both present and future.

Actually, the beams between the notes should be 16th.
Could you demonstrate on my file what you have in mind?

Thanks for the instructions.
I chose the wrong tremolo but now I know how it works.

Good!

I have noticed that Musescore does not always copy the stroke style. When "connect all stems to the beam" is selected, after pasting the stems are not connected.

Did you press the s to the right of this option in the inspector when you set it? Can you post an example of this problem? I did some quick testing and it seems to work fine for me.

I did not. Now it works.
However, when I start with 1/8th notes the stroke style option is missing in the inspector.

The option for notes shorter than a 1/4 note is supposed to be added in version 3.6.
