Decreasing distance between bars: help!

Hi everyone,

I'm struggling with decreasing the distance between bars in the attached piece. Notably at page 5, in which you have to play 4 bars simultaniously. It helps when there is not so much white space between the bars.

I've edited the distance between staves setting in layout -> page. It helped at measure 45, but doesn't work at 47. Can someone help me?

Also, in measure 42, the distance between the bars wasn't decreased while it did decrease at the previous bars (as you can see).

the distance increase in measure 47 are due to the invisible notes in measure 48

Thanks! Not only did the invisible notes mess up the distance; also the unprintable objects prevented the bars from moving. Your tip did the trick and I'm now fully flexibel in adjusting this piece.
