Help with transposing
Not about musescore specifically but does anybody know how to transpose from a bass viol to an alto saxophone? I can't find it anywhere and I really need to know. Any help is appreciated!

Alto saxophone sounds a major sixth lower than written, if that helps. So if you have a notate you want to sound like middle A, you need to write it as the A above that. MuseScore handles this automatically if you change the instrument, but since you say not about MuseScore, I'm guessing you also want to know how to do this manually, and that;s how - raise the written pitch a major sixth from what you want to hear.
