How can I beam this?
I'm trying to fix up this piece but cannot seem to able to beam these 2 chords together. I've tried using the "beam start" feature but the program won't let me add it. Thoughts

Better to attach the score (*.mscz file). It should work.

You already have two notes starting their own beam, so adding another start property won't help. You need to tell the second note there is't ok to be in the middle of a beam. So, select and click beam middle.
Or, if this is the beaming pattern you want to apply throughout the piece, easier to instead right-click the time signature and use Time Signature Properties to set the default beaming.
