Adding Staffs at Various Points
I'm looking to add and subtract staffs from parts at various points throughout a score, such as the 4-part split during the overture to "Tannhäuser." Is this supported in the current version of MuseScore? Thanks!

Format/Style/Score->Hide empty Staves?

This is how I've been doing it so far, but it also results in the unfortunate side effect of having lots of empty, unnecessary bars until the specific measures where they're needed (along with having all of the bars splayed out on the first page and then disappearing until reappearing again). If there is no other method yet aside from that, then I'll probably just submit it as a feature request.

Check the corresponding style option to not have those staves in the first system.
You might also consider marking them as "cutaway" in the staff properties.

Thank you for mentioning the cutaway feature! I'll start tinkering with that.
