Repeat within repeat
In the uploaded piece I'd like to play the first part (up to the first repeat) twice, then the second part (to the end) once, then repeat that whole process, say 4 times. How to do that please?
As written, the second time around the first part is only played once, not twice.

MuseScore 2.0.2, seriously?
Anyway, a DC with repeats might do (but needs a newer MuseScore version)
Hmm, it's one from 2016 that I've picked up again, but is running in 3.5. What do you suggest Jojo?

Add a D.C. to the final measure. In Inspcetor tick the D.C.'s "Play Repeats"

I should have added that I was a beginner.
I added a DC to the very last measure, but with that bar selected Inspector doesn't appear to have a 'Play Repeats' switch. Could you expand please?

In MuseScore 3.5 it has. With the D.C. selected, not its bar

The bar doesnt, the D.C. does; so make sure to have that selected when looking at the inspector.

Thanks Jeetee. So now I have the Play Repeats box ticked, but there's no change. The three boxes above this box are (default) set to:
Jump to START
Play until END
Continue at (Nothing set)
Do I need to change these three settings?

No.
With that "Play repeats" being checked it should play the enrire score twice, including the repeat of the first 8 measures. Also, of course, the Play Repeats button in the toolbar needs to be active
Please share the score if it does not repeat.

Thanks, your version works fine. I can't see any difference though between mine and your version other than in mine the box at the top has the '1' highlighted (there are four boxes, 1.2.3.4 in the 'notation' bar.)

It has an end repeat barline at the final measure, but no matching start repeat.
The end repeat barline in measure 8 has one, in measure 1, but doesn't even need that, as this is implicit.
Repeat barlines just don't nest, not like parentheses in math

Thanks; I got that. Last thing, I want the whole thing to repeat a few times but with DC set there's no Play Count in the last bar....

There's a "dirty" workaround in that you can add a few very short empty measures to the end and add a D.C. on each one of them.
