I want to create an audio of the score.
I went to File>>Export
Box appears on right of screen showing all my songs.,,,,,nothing bout MP3s in it.
Same box appears when I am doing PDFs.
I would like to do a background music audio of a score. (no melody)
Can that be done on Musescore?
If so, do I have to physically erase the melody, or is there a techsavvy
way to do that?

I wrote one melody (verse and chorus)
But I have lyrics for three verses.
The singer will sing the verse and chorus three times.
How do I extend that one melody three times?
If the repeat bar has fewer beats than the time signature suggests - usually because there's a pickup beat at the start, then you might need to adjust the length of that too - use measure properties to do that. Use CTRL-Click in that bar for the drop down menu. It's a small detail - and you may not need that.
Well, yes, notes can be input into MuseScore this way too. The real-time MIDI input feature in MuseScore is more limited than in Finale, which itself is also pretty limited, but yes, both programs do support something along these lines. Still, it's not the usual way of entering music into either program. And neither are in a real sense "recording" music - they are just using MIDI as an alternate method for entering notes. And that was the distinction I was making.

MuseScore can export to an audio (e.g., mp3, wav) format which you can then listen to using any of a number of media players.

There you can select the format to export, PDF being the default

If I understand correctly, just go to View / Mixer, find the channel for the track you don't want to hear, and click the mute button for it.

What is "the long way"?
Did you enter the song in MuseScore? If so, use the mixer to exclude parts which you do not consider part of the background, and export a MP3 file.
If you did not enter it into MuseScore, you will have to do this first.

"Long way" means having to notate the verse and chorus three times.

Maybe an audio file (eg:mp3) is meant as the source. If so, the solutions suggested here will not work.

well, in Makemusic Finale it's possible to input, read record directly, notes into a piano stave via midi keyboard (reply to Marc Sabatella)
