Irreversible style changes
I am having some irreversible style changes in Musescore 3.6.
Firstly, the palettes have changed, and there's no going back, which is annoying since I don't really like the new style (it looks squished and unnatural to me).
Second, the accidentals have permanently changed to the new style. Which means, in complicated scores, I literally have to recalibrate the position of hundreds of accidentals.
Would you please add an option to restore ALL 3.5 style? thanks

What palettes have change and in what way?
What style settings for accidentals are you talking about?
From a picture we can't tell what you mean (tah images doesn't seem to show any obvious problems), a (pre 3.5) score would be needed I guess

Possibly for accidentals the replacement of those in Emmentaler to the Parnassus ones (which I never really understood but "meh")

Ah, yes. Affects Emmentaler and Emmentaler only though. And hasn't got to do anything with any style settings
(Well, except for the Musical Font setting of course)

The icons on the pallates have changed to the new style even when I tell the software to use the old style, same for the accidentals

Which icons on what palettes have changed?
Anyway palettes were never affected by any style settings
For glyphs the palettes used to use Bravura (ever since Bravura got added and MuseScore got 'SMuFLized). I think they still do.

All the pallates. See this:
Obviously different.

I don't see any obvious differences there, except for the glissando, which doesn't seem to fix its cell.
Which version exactly are you comparing there?
Anyway. as said: the palettes are not affected by any style settings

I am comparing 3.5 to 3.6. And also I see a difference in everything but the barlines, not just the glissando...
Does that mean the palettes are stuck like that?! will there ever be a choice to change the appearance of the palettes...
In reply to I am comparing 3.5 to 3.6… by Zongshu
Again: palettes don't change with style settings.
So there is no way to change their appearance, never was and never will be
The look of the palette items don't neccessarily relate to the look in a score though, there they will follow their style settings

It won't make any difference though, not to your scores

So what about the accidentals? They have also changed

For Emmentaler, yes, see @jeetee's reply above

What settings do I have to tweak to revert the accidentals
In reply to What settings do I have to… by Zongshu
Revert to MuseScore 3.5. This is the only option, as the Musical fonts are build into the program and here Emmentaler's accidentals have been changed with 3.6 (to those of Parnassus). There is no style setting for this.
There is no way ar all to tweak single accidentals, so I'm not really sure what you claim to have done to them.

Ok, understandable, I'll just have use 3.5 despite the few glitches...

I don't understand why such a relative minor detail like accidentals in Emmentaler are so important for you though, that you'd not want to use 3.6.

The major thing is that these accidentals force the score to allocate more space for notes, which cause all kinds of nasty issues like two measures just barely not fitting into one single line. And although I could decrease the sp it also makes the score look bad
In reply to The major thing is that… by Zongshu
Decreasing the space setting a tiny but, like from the old default of 1.764 to the new default if 1.75 might do the trick already. Just using the arrow keys, and thus deceasing by a full 0.2 step, is indeed way too much here and changing the look of the entire score quite drastically.
Probably even "less stretch" ({) fixes this already, unless you're at the lowest stretch level already.
These Parnassus accidentals may need an extra pixel here and there, in general though they are pretty much the same size as they were before.
They have been impemented through https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/pull/6747 BTW,

But everything aside, these accidentals make me uncomfortable, kind of like someone that put on too much makeup. I still prefer the old style.
