changing existing note sound
For Drumset, selected Edit Drumset. I want to change the tamborine to cowbell 2. I made the changes for the correct notehead i wanted.
How do i change the note /midi value from tamborine to another cowbell sound?

By changing to the corresponding pitch in the drumset editor, There's only one Cowbell, at pitch 56
There are two more at pitch 99 and 102, but those may not play, may not be in the soundfonts

Interestng. jojo. yes look like 99 and 102 do not play.
To change a pitch, doc says move the notehead up or down. But i want to keep the new notehead on the staff line 2 position.

You need to read the Edit Drumset in the handbook. The "midi-pitch-number" you associate with a position in the staff is defined there,

I have read this over before. So by modifying the Tamborine note head and staff position (refer to my previous pic) , how do i change the pitch from tamborine to another pitch?

You do not change the tambourine pitch to a different pitch.
You do select the pitch you wish to display in the list, then say where and how it should be shown on the staff.

hi, aaah i think i get it now. sorry for my confusion. So I am not changing the existing notes that are already assigned. I would select an unassigned pitch number and configure the notehead.

You do it the other way around.
First select the "pitch number" row in the left column. Then you update it to appear with note head group "Triangle Down"and on the second line from the top, i.e. staff line 2 (where the original tambourine also will appear but with diamond note heads).
