pdf convert ?
I just upgraded to 3.6.2 and my 1st proj is to fix up a pdf convert. Some Qs may be cuz of pdf convert and some cuz of settings on 3.6.2. I cant tell which.
1) view shows "folded pages", I want separate pages w back color between pages. I tried various settings under formats, cannot seem to find.
2) As I delete sys breaks, the measures do not re-flow onto one line. I am used to adding/deleting these to get ~4 meas per line across page. What setting am I missing?
3) each converted mea was accurate except one where convert has 3 meas combined into one. the whole line hangs off of the page, and obviously the 4/4 aspect is not respected. I tried meas prop, it seemed OK. There are 32 1/8 notes on that line which is shown as one measure.

I'm not sure what you mean by 1), maybe you are in something other than Page View? Change to that using the dropdown menu on the toolbar if so. If that's not what you mean, please post a screenshot showing what it is you are saying and explain in more detail what you'd like to see instead.
For 2), there is no way you're going to get four measures on a single system with the page and staff size you have selected. Your page size is letter - a standard size in the US - but your staff size is enormous, around twice what is normal. Go to Format / Page Settings and set a more reasonable size for the staff space (normal is 1.75 mm).
I suspect you'll find the PDF import produced pretty random results, though, and it most likely will take longer to fix the numerous errors here (measures of wildly different durations) than to simply enter the music normally.

1 see image snips for what I wanted
2 understood, it was the page scaling factor

my pdf convert has 3 separate score in it. it converted a one score. I will split up
eventually, but for now am trying only to correct notes & duration(s) & line breaks & titles.
can I set a meas# to zero permanently? I see where I can add/sub an offset. BUT when I add or del
a meas up front, it changes all downstream meas#'s. I have to change all the offsets.
4
can I color one word in a title or staff text? I see how to color the whole element
5
on page view, icon splitting lines is called "layout break" whereas in pallett it is called "sys break".
Are they exactly the same functionally?
6
meas duration(s) property don't seem to copy when copy/pasting meas
7
this is the toughie. I use the term referential integrity (RI) to mean enforcing the duration(s) specified in
the meas property panel/pane. Is there a way to suspend RI for a specific meas so that I can edit it any
way I wish then turn it back on? I ask cuz the majority of pdf>convert mistakes were replacing 1/8 notes
in original with 1/4's. I can convert the 1/4 to 1/8+rest pairs, but then cannot delete the rest.
THANKS for the chat and help.

From your screenshots, I guess you are talking about the difference between having the "two-sided" checkbox enabled in Format / Page Settings. With that enabled, MuseScore is trying to show you how pairs of facing pages will be grouped. You can toggle that setting, but not this also affects the margins, so really you need to decide whether you actually want separate margins or not and set the option accordingly.
I'm not understanding your question 3. As always, it's is much easier to help if you attach a score and tell us precisely what you are trying to do.
No, you can't change color of a single word within a text element. You'd have to create the element separately and position them to look as one.
"Layout break" is a generic term that includes system breaks, page breaks, and section breaks.
Copy/paste indeed copies only contents, not measure structure.
For the last question, again, an actual score would help immensely. MuseScore indeed needs to know how many beats you want in a bar, but it doesn't in any way prevent you from changing this. So if you want to delete a rest, just press Ctrl+Delete and it's gone, with the duration of the measure automatically updated. Agauin, if you need further assistance, please attach the score and give describe the problem more precisely - which rest in which measure, etc.

The "two-sided" check box does not toggle the view. Score attached.
The CTRL+Del was exactly what I needed. I was doing only Del previously. Then I correct the meas prop to be 4/4.
Is there a way to set meas# to zero rather than adding or subtracting an offset?

If you use a 'Section break', each section can have its own measure numbering independent of the rest of the score.

Thank you so much - exactly what I was seeking.

Confirmed that unchecking the two-side otion doesn't change the fact that MuseScore still tries to do you the favor of showing you how the pairs of facing pages will appear. It doesn't affect anything about the printed score, it's just an on-screen convenience you can either take advantage of or ignore as you see fit.
I'm not understanding which measure you want to set to zero or why. Normally it would just be the pickup measure, and you''d do this by checking the "Exclude from measure count" box. Maybe what you really mean is, you want the measure numbers to reset after each separate example within the file? Simply add section breaks and this happens automatically, along with other convenient things like suppressing courtesy key and time signatures. The first measure of each section will then either be zero or one depending on whether you've also excluded it from the measure count.

Have got numbering figured out and fixed now.
The so called "on screen convenience" is actually a hindrance to me - as one is "flickling/scrolling" thru
pages, it is nice to see the "separator/blank space." Oh well.....
& THX for UR efforts on forum.

The convenience is the extra space that is between the sets of pages. The normal default would be the smaller amount of space, so without this convenience, you'd not see any of that extra blank space. So the extra space is a convenience to you, it just isn't applied to all pages as you would prefer.
Feel free to submit an official "Suggestion" to the issue tracker to allow customization of the amount of space between pages.

Jm6stringer (I think) had correct answ re meas numbering for me - put/use a section break. It restarts next meas at zero.
I guess have to give up on appearance of page break spacing.

Not sure what value you are wanting to get out of that info, but consider View / Navigator to see a visual representation of your pages.
