Tempo di "Seis"

• Aug 28, 2021 - 12:16

Hello everyone
The Tempo di Seis is a way of accenting the eighth notes of a measure ( 6 ⁄ 8 time). The Tempo di Seis consists of two three 1 ⁄ 8 notes, with the notes on the first and fourth beat being emphasized. In the next measure, two 1 ⁄ 8 notes follow three times , with the notes on the second, fourth and sixth beat being emphasized. The Tempo di Seis is used, for example, by Leonard Bernstein.
Does anyone have any idea how to implement it in a partition and how to do it with Musescore ?
Thank you in advance for your help and relevant remarks ;)

I'm not sure what you are describe is the same as swing, but I'm having trouble following what you mean. Can you show an example? If you mean the way the song "America" is in 6/8 but with every other measure having accents on 1, 3, and 5 instead of 1 and 4, just write in 6/8 but add accents as needed, and use Beam Properties to make the eighths beam in twos instead of threes. Or equivalents, write it in 3/4 and make the analogous adjustments to the other bars.
