Inputting notes on piano score (2 parts treble clef, 2 parts bass clef)

I don't do this very often, hence this request.
I have put in the SATB notes of the piano using the different colours. However, in the bass clef I have whole bar rests which are superfluous, and obviously get in the way. Is there a way I can delete them please? I have tried 'right clicking' and then 'delete' but that has no effect. I can move them down the page into the spaces between the score, using the down arrow key, but I would really like to seem them gone! The rests are in blue, if that helps. Thank you in advance.
