Score needed, but most certainly there's some element with a huge offset. Ctrl+A, Ctrl+R to reset all elements to their default positions should fix this

Thank you for your quick response, that resolved the problem. Since posting I also found that opening Inspector and ticking Disable Autoplace resolved it. Your suggestion is far quicker. Many thanks

Disabling autoplace masks the symptom but does not the actual problem. The element in question is still way out of its proper position, it just doesn't add extra space. Definitely better to reset its position.

I have been having a similar problem and tried the solution of ctrl+A, ctrl+R, but it did not correct the staff spacing -- see encl. I've tried other commands as well to no avail.

You - or someone else who edited this score - apparently placed a staff spacer above the clarinet 1 staff in measure 18 for some reason, You can't see it because View / Show Unprintable has been turned off. Turn it back on, then you can select and delete the spurious spacer.

Fantastic, thanks! I'll tell the turkey (me) he's too old and unwired to be doing this.
