When entering lyrics to a note that is tied to another note, e.g. across a barline, the desired outcome would be for the cursor to jump to the next note after the tied note when the syllable has been entered. Instead, the cursor just goes to the tied syllable:
Since this note is in practice part of the previous note, it should be disregarded and skipped in situations like this.

Yes, it's a related issue, but not the same: there, it's about whether to write out the extender; here, it's about treating tied notes as single units in the input process. This is particularly important when using the clipboard-based way of entering lyrics: it slows down the input tremendously when one constantly has to be on the watch for possible ties, where musically there are just single notes – such as in the example above. In the example, I would quite often enter the next syllable on the tied note, then exit lyric enter mode, cut the wrongly entered syllable, paste it back in its right place, then continue entering lyrics again. It's cumbersome, and quite unnecessary.
That does involve adding the extender automatically

True - it would involve a decision about what to do in those cases. A user-selectable option is mentioned in that other issue, and that seems like a good idea. But even if nothing were done, I would consider it a better alternative than the current.
