(Known issue on GitHub) Fermata playback broken in 4.x nightly build
Reported version
4.x-dev
Type
Functional
Frequency
Once
Severity
S4 - Minor
Reproducibility
Always
Status
active
Regression
Yes
Workaround
No
Project
1) Load a score with fermatas, and make sure they have a time stretch value set in their playback menu.
2) Play the score
You will see that the visual side of the playback respects the time stretch of the fermata, but the audio jumps forward.
Sorry if this is a known bug. Just trying out some MS 4 stuff and it caught my attention almost immediately.
I have a screen capture of this here: https://youtu.be/XPJFJEs1Z28

There's no beta yet, not even an Alpha

I was mislead by the download link under 4.x labeled "beta"
I assumed this meant the beta version of 4.x.
There's only one entry under Beta, and that isn't really a beta, but more of a compatibility version for scores creared with a previous 4.0 nightly to be able to open those tiwh later nightlies (or vice versa, not sure), probably got placed there to not 'drown' in the many nightlies.
I created and attached a small test file, and can confirm the issue exists.
Fermata_test.mscz
Regression, since 3.x does not have this behaviour.
Jojo-Schmitz, should this bug report not go to https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues with the other v4.0 / master bugs?
Yes, that'd be better
@jasonislegit are you ok to log it there (and link from here to there)? You are welcome to attach my test file as well. (If not, I will do it).
I found the relevant issue on GitHub, [Inspector] Time options for Fermata marks do not work #9283
That seems a different issue, as it is closed as being fixed since long
