Strings and Piano (as far I've tested) will after a certain point, during MuseScore playback, constantly have the pedal function activated, causing it to endlessly hold notes.

I could not replicate the behaviour you describe, but are you perhaps seeing this problem? #327623: Inaccurate playback if started immediately after opening MuseScore or some variation of it?

Can confirm this problem for me, I have even tried opening the midi in other software and it plays for no reason. Here's my score that does it.
You mean in measure 13-16?
