It does play, but due to be in unison with the previous note it can't be heard
Allmost the same for flute too BTW, but heard very shirtly and subtle, on violin I guess the sound does sustain just a little longer . Ot rather in flute a little shoretes, 95% of the duration vs. 100% for flute.
Check the piano roll editor to see that

It must vary with the system and hardware. On my computer with attached headphones the grace notes are very clear in the flute, absent in the violin.

No, It sure doesn't, see below for the reason (which maybe too technical, bit the easier explanation is above too)
Difference in the instruments definition, flute:
violin and almost all other instruments (all but piano IIRC):

Whatever the specs say I ought to hear, what I actually hear on my system is grace notes on the flute and none on the violin.

And the explanation for that has been given...
In fact, the grace notes here are playing (they sound), but due to the long attack time used in this and similar instruments in the sound font, the sample of the played note ends before it can pass to the sustain stage and the other note starts to play.
Further experiment shows that if in the violin part I select the grace note and then begin playback, the grace note is clearly heard, but subsequent grace notes aren't. I don't know if this is evidence of anything useful, but I thought I'd mention it in case it interests anyone.

It the previous note that is in unison and overlapping with the grace note.

I get it.
On my system almost any woodwind font will play all the grace notes in both parts just fine. Almost any string font won't even attempt most of them. Especially measure 10 beat three. And other places where the grace note is not the same as the proceeding note. Same result with reverb off.
Brass will play the grace notes.
