Appoggiatura for second repeat?
I have a section of music that is repeated with very minor note differences each time. I've seen the use of appoggiatura (which I'm using to mean small noteheads that aren't attached to anything and behave like a regular note - not sure if that's the right word) in vocal parts to signify that you only sing that note on the second repeat, so I'm looking for a) the correct way to demonstrate that for a piano part, and b) how to make it play that way in musescore.
The photo below shows an example. I want the notes in blue (excepting the grace note) to be played both times and the notes in orange to only be played the second time.

What you're describing kind of looks like an appoggiatura, but no, actually, that's a completely separate concept. The appoggiatura is an ornament used in Baroque music especially, like the world's slower trill, and has nothing to do with lyrics verses. What you really want is to simply enter the desired rhythm in a separate voice and make the notes small using the "Chord" section of the Inspector. You'll have to choose which version you want to hear for playback and make the other silent by unchecking Play in the Inspector - there is no way currently to say "play these notes first time, these other notes second time. It's a common request, though, so hopefully someday.

I figured playback wouldn't really be a thing but I'm glad to know the proper convention for this!
