Voltas partly dissapearing after save+exit+restart
I have an issue which may be a bug, but present it here in case anyone can shed some light on this:
I've never had an issue with voltas before, but in this score their visual appearance degrades to just "1." and "2." after I save the score, exit and starts MS again. That is, the lines are gone. When I open the inspector, everything looks fine - continuous line style, end hook and start hook both 90 deg. To make the lines appear again, I first have to choose another line style, then switch back to continuous and everything looks visually as it should. But then, exiting MS after save and open the score again, the lines are gone.

Try menu item: Format > Style... > Volta and in 'Line style' press the reset button.

It worked, thank you! I wonder why the Line style was unset (no value at all) in the first place though .. There is no choice for this in the menu..

See #325459: Line on "Volta" (1., 2. etc) won't show after closing and reopening a saved file/score
The score has
<voltaLineStyle>0</voltaLineStyle>
(and also<pedalListStyle>0</pedalListStyle>
and<ottavaLineStyle>0</ottavaLineStyle>
, also bogus values)In reply to See #325459: Line on "Volta"… by Jojo-Schmitz
Interesting to see that more than one other person have encountered variants of the same issue. I also have a custom styles file, but the volta line style setting there is
voltaLineStyle=1
(Hm, left/right angle brackets used in XML does not display - how can they be escaped here)
So at least for me, the only working fix is to "repair" the setting directly in MS through Format -> Style -> Volta.
Btw, I now checked the Ottava line style setting in Format -> Style -> Ottava - it is also "unset" - empty. But my .mss file contains
ottavaLineStyle=2
So why is not MS respecting the these settings in the .mss file, and why is they not set at all in MS???

Can you attach the mss file?

Hmm, indeed
, not those bogus 0 settings. But when loaded, Format > Style > Ottava shows Dashed and ...Volta shows Continuous, not empty, so the style file seems to work just fine for me.
Even when used on your score. So the style file doesn't seem the culprit, but sone change you did after applying it (and there must have been such changes, as your score does change appearance/layout when loading that style

The only thing I can think of, is that I got a new PC just after Easter, but I copied the whole old Documents\MuseScore3 onto the new PC and it seemed to work. And of course I downloaded MS again, but I didn't check whether the new version was another than the previous one.

Whatever. if I use your mss on your mscz the voltas show and the layout is different.
MuseScore 3.6.2 in Windows 11. Your score stems from 3.6.2 and Windows. The style file stems from 3.6 too.
My conclusion is: you either didn't apply that style file to that score, or changed something in the score after. There's no other option I can think of
