Note appearing directly above bass clef
I'm writing a French horn part so switching between bass and treble clef. The latest bass clef I added to the stave has an odd property, in that if the note next to it is a B above the stave or higher, it sits directly above the clef. Is this expected behaviour?

Score needed, the image doesn't help here

Can actually recreate it from a blank score:
Note appears as per the image.
In my own score I noticed that if I save and re-open it then the note seems to appear as normal next to a large bass clef, but deleting that clef and adding it again results in the note above the clef again.

And there we go: There's no French horn in the German version nor the (US) English one
Please attach a sample score

It does it with violin as well, probably other instruments as well if your testers want to recreate it.

Confirmed. Seems to do it with C as well

Interesting. Got to be related to collision avoidance

Seems fixed in MuseScore 4 (Alpha 2 or a later nightly build)

French Horn = Horn in F = (german) Waldhorn

I wouldn't normally change clefs that way. I would select the measure, then apply the clef. Otherwise the clef is on the wrong side of the barline.

The Musescore 3 guide says to select a note or rest; that's also the only way you can get a clef change part way through a measure.
edit - in fact it gives both methods; it should detect that the first note is selected and treat it as the measure having been selected and insert the large clef before the bar line.

No, this may have been done on purpose.

It is on purpose, mostly related to grace note runs, but in some cases for normal notes as well. This way both styles/options are available.

Right I can see that now - to be honest I didn't even notice where it was in relation to the bar line, will check the other ones I've entered too.
