Ritardando and Accelerando
I can find a lot of information about what ritardando and accelerando in musescore do, and how to simulate them, but nothing on how to add ritardandos into certain areas of your music. How do you insert them into your music?

To add rit. or accel. manually, see:

Here's a really neat plugin that streamlines the process:

In addition to a linear tempo change, it can do a logarithmic change.
Is there any way to insert a ritardando with a hairpin as shown in the attached image?

Add a normal hairpin, make sure is is selected, in Inspector set its Begin text to "rit."

Well, that was easy! Thank you!
Old thread here, apologies if resurrecting is not normally done. I have found the streamlined plugin, and I have gotten it to work, but it is very clunky. Is there a page around here that clearly outlines how to import and use a plugin? I can only get it to work by unchecking and rechecking the box, and selecting run. The plug in will not appear in the list of plugins, like where the stock plugins are.

Thanks, but I saw that page already. I can’t get this particular plugin to show up in that list.

What version of MuseScore, what plugin exactly?
What happens if you open and run that plugin from within the Plugin Creator?

What OS? What version MuseScore?
What specific list do you mean? ...the Plugin Manager?
Use menu item: Edit > Preferences and, in the 'Folders' section of the 'General' tab, look into the 'Plugins' folder location to see whether it's found there.
Did you unzip the plugin?...into its own subfolder?
See if it's listed outside of the Plugin Manager:

Windows. I think the problem I’m having is that their instructions say where to install the plugins, and that leads me to believe that their is an executable. Am I supposed to drop a folder or a file into that location? If so, which folder or file?

Success. I now have it visible under the Plugins column. I copied the Musescore Tempo Changes folder to the Musescore plug-ins folder found (nested or deep) in my documents folder. Thank you all for your patience with me.
