Hi,
I have a more technical question:
How do I install an .AppImage file on Ubuntu (Linux) so that the program is not portable?
Best regards!

To integrate an AppImage you run it with the
install
argument.See also https://musescore.org/en/handbook/3/install-linux#AppImage-install

I reviewed the link you gave. On my Ubuntu 20.04 focal, I use AppImage for MS3 and MS4 (beta and now RC).
Since this existing manner of using MS works quite reliably, I'm hesitant to install as given in the instructions.
1) suspecting there won't be any further updates to MS3, there seems no good to install it.
2) do the link's instructions apply to MS4 - for AppImage method, or as of 12/18/22 is it better to install, expecting MS4.x.x to arrive?
Thanks.

All the install does for an AppImage to my (limited) knowledge is setup a shortcut with a nice icon and register file associations so that double clicking an mscz file will make it open in MuseScore.
