Can't set note durations with number pad in M4

In Musescore 3, I used the number pad exclusively to set note durations. Nothing happens in M4 when selecting a note and pressing a number on the number pad.
I've looked at the Shortcut settings, but trying to reset them to using the number pad doesn't work; it doesn't seem to know when I'm pressing those keys. When I try to reset a crotchet, for example, it just makes it a '5' instead of 'NumPad+5' as in M3, and does not recognise the number pad.
Am I doing something wrong??
