is there a way to get playback to include dynamics such as crescendo, diminuendo etcc/ i can get F, P, Mf etc. but the line dynamics don't play back

thanks for reply. i tried that and it doesn't play back...perhaps i have a computer problem(?) or maybe I am missing a step(?)

Can you attach here the score you are having problems with?

Make sure you have a dynamic marking somewhere after the hairpin, and that it's not misaligned such that it registers as coming during the hairpin.
If the crescendo is supposed to happen over a single note, make sure you're using an instrument that can do that, and check in the mixer that the sound name ends with "Expr."

hello. pardon the delayed response. i appreciate your comments very much. i tried exactly that and everything checked out but still no audible cres./diminu...makes me think i am not accurately following your suggestions and will try again.

There should be a dynamics mark before and after the hairpin.

The hairpin must end at least one note before the the new dynamic mark.
