Project
(I have only tested with a few instruments and notes but this seems to happen almost any time a note is on a ledger line.)
1) Open Musescore 4 and open/create a score
2) Place a note which is displayed on a ledger line, above or below the staff
3) While the note is still highlighted, open the Properties tab and toggle "Visible"
In the attached screenshot, toggling the "Visible" property will cause the app to immediately crash. Occasionally this will not cause the app to crash the first time, but repeatedly toggling it eventually crashes the app. Expected behavior would be the selected note turning invisible along with the ledger line.

I can confirm this as well. I noticed crashes but didn't see the pattern at first so I didn't notice the ledger line connection. Now tested and I consistently get a crash every time a note on a ledger line is rendered invisible. Not completely consistent as sometimes a note on a single ledger line does not cause the crash (middle C below treble staff, A above treble staff), but sometime it does. Two ledger lines or more seems to crash 100%. Mac OS 12.6

Not sure what the Frequency tables and arrows are indicating, sorry.
Crash still happens on v. 4.0.1 for me as well.
Musescore 4 crashed when I was adjusting layout. I found that changing the scaling down one step in page layout fixed all the problems. Format-page layout- scaling.
I can't reproduce, not in a pre-release of 4.0.2
