I did a few minor edits on this file and now it won't open. I tried opening with the control key but still no go. Hoping some other people try and open it and see what's wrong

What is opening with the control key supposed to achieve?

I double click while pressing the control key at the same time to open broken files. It works sometimes.

Doesn't do anything special as far as I can tell, so I guess that it does somethimes work is just random
It seems that Part 22 is broken, MS expects there to be a instrumentId for MusicXML but there is not.
I tried repairing the file by pasting stuff from the next instrument (renamed the broken part to "broken") but I'm not sure what it's supposed to look like... try it and see.

Thanks but I don't understand. What is part 22? I didn't find anything labeled "broken" but I was able to open the file.

Part 22 is Stave 22 (Orff Alto Glockenspiel Celest/Piano), as shown on the Status Bar:

I think the part id in the file is not visible inside MS, but part 22 is connected to staff 23 which has the label "broken" in your screenshot.
For the record, I belive the file was mangled by some MS4 bug and not by user error.

Yeah your original file causes MS to crash. Check the first page of the score as I didn't change the short name of the part.
I changed the name of the part so you can tell which one it is and check if everything is still OK with it.

Found it! Used an old Sonar program to enter all the notes quickly. Saved to midi but very inaccurate durations and errors which screwed museScore up.
Just using it to learn to operate in Muse 4.
