Dyanmic ignored after hairpin?
I have a single-note p>ff violin hairpin followed by a p dynamic. However the violin continues to play at ff.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding dynamics, I'm not formally trained. I think my intention is pretty clear though. Would appreciate any advice :)

For proper playback, you might need to notate this a little differently. Change the G sharp to a dotted half tied to a quarter note. Delete the hair pin. Place the ff on the quarter note. re-enter the hair pin.

Not as elegant as the other way. But MS4 and real players will know what you want.
