Errors after important a PDF and Creating a Score
Hi.
I imported the attached music sheet PDF.
The resultant score has these issues:
(a) there are zero notes from measures 10 thru 18.
(b) When I use MuseScore to play the score, I hear no sound starting at measure 23
Both the PDF, and the score are attached.
Can you kindly help diagnose.

PDF can be tricky. For example my reader got most of the notes. But it doesn't do lyrics.

Thank you kindly. I am getting most of the notes most of the time
You cannot IMPORT a PDF file. MuseScore usess the online version of the third-party program Audiveris which interprets the written score and tries to work out what the note pitches and lengths etc. are. TRIES is the operative word here. Some have reported better outcomes by installing Audiveris onto their computer or by installing a different (paid-for) music notation reader program.

I tried this file with my Audiveris installed locally. It is as bad as it can be ...
I'm afraid it's less work to just copy the score by hand than to correct the mistakes.

You can IMPORT a PDF into Musescore (see https://musescore.com/import). I've imported about 20 PDFs so far. The resultant scores are in 'ok' shape most of the time.
I'll look into alternatives that you mention
