Crackling Audio

I've just recently gotten issues where when during playback the audio has a crackling noise. I clear the minimum system requirements by a significant amount (8gb RAM is required and I have 32) and none of the suggestions that I've seen have worked. The crackling noise seems to only be on larger pieces, I've had this problem on both an 8 part piece and a 17 part piece, however the 8 part piece has stopped having the issue. It might not be a problem with the playback itself because If I open the mixer menu, which obscures a decent part of the screen, the crackling stops which makes me think it's a problem with rendering the score or something like that. If anyone has any suggestions that might help me play the piece without the menu open than that would be appreciated!
