Have to reset sound every time I start Musescore
I apologize if this not the correct forum.
Everytime I start musescore (latest version) I hear nothing until I go to Preference, then to I/O and change Audio Device from MacBook Speakers to System Default, or vice versa, and presto sound works again. but later, when I restart, I have to toggle the audio device again to get sound.
any ideas?

In the meantime, are you using any other audio devices (like headphones)? Or switching while MuseScore is open?
I don't know how Mac defines System default. In Windows the default device can be set in the OS. Which means that speakers would be the default device, if chosen. But even so MU4 doesn't always get it. And once it is set in the software, you should be done. Not much help, I know.

no devices (other than the laptop)
once I set the i/o, I'm good to go. If I step away, and the mac goes to sleep, when I come back, hit play, there's not sound again till I tweak the i/o setting.
