Program Crashes when closing repeat is added
The following score causes the program to crash and close unexpectedly when a closing repeat is added at end of measure 226. The opening of the repeat is around measure 187. Depending on the number of blank measures I had remaining I was able to add the closing repeat but then when I clicked on a blank measure before that the program crashed. I was able to select measures that encompassed this range and delete all and then add more blanks but the behavior as described reappears in the newly added measures. If I do not add the closing repeat, it appears that I can select measures and add notes etc. I have no other error messages suggesting an issue when the file is opened. Nothing about corruption, just that previous session closed unexpectedly.

In the middle of a tied note?
Anyway, doesn't crash here

Actually the measure number was from the printed number at top of staff. There are two uncounted measures in the score so measure 228 by count is actually measure 230 internally. If I click on the bar line immediately before the C6 note, which is just before the second from last measure, the program crashes immediately when I try to add the end repeat to that bar line.

I just updated to 4.2.0 the other day and am Windows 11. You say you are 4.0.2. I started this on 4.1 I believe. I will download the file I uploaded and use that instead of what I have archived. Not sure why that would do anything and then I will do a complete reboot as well.

No luck with reboot or using my uploaded copy. I would like to re-install 4.1.1. If I uninstall MS 4.2.0, how do I get an older install ? is there a link?

Jojo's typo! He uses version 4.2.0 of course.
Don't desinstall this version from now.
For the record, I can't reproduce too (Windows 10, Version 4.2.0)
Could you attach a GIF to see what you are doing?

Not much to see. I click and high light the bar line near the end of the staff and then go to the palette and double click the end repeat symbol. The program crashes but the screen capture ends with the crash and does not display in the GIF which repeats in a loop. In the original video clip mp4 file there is a brief flash of the desktop before the image repeats but this is not really displayed in the GIF.

OK, thanks for the GIF. I wasn't sure exactly where you were adding that end repeat symbol.
And so, I confirm that there is strictly no crash here, I redid, waited a few seconds, nothing. I'm attaching your score with this end repeat: 1Fruhlingsstimmen Walzer.mscz
I don't be able to explain what happens for you.
" and then go to the palette and double click the end repeat symbol. "
For the record, and since for ages, a single click is sufficient for adding palette elements towards the score

Single or double click same results but I was able to download the file you modified and it appears to be stable on my system so whatever corruption occurred, it was either lost or removed by your system and not transmitted back to my computer. There is nothing fundamentally different in the operating environment for either file on my system so whatever happened is a mystery. Would be nice if there were some comparison program to compare two file data bases. Wondering if saving as Music XML would allow a a text comparison program to find differences and highlight something that is/isn't in one.

Yes sorry corrected my typo just now
