Thanks for your prompt replyy.
It would appear that I may have, at some point inadvertantly disabled the feature, how do I re-enable it again.
Any help would be appreciated.

Format -> Style -> Page, see the checkbox "Create courtesy key signatures".

That's one option, yes

Another is an individual setting on the keysigs
A 3rd is the use of section breaks
