Compressing a line.
On my verse page about half of the lines have 2 measures in each line, and the other half for some reason have only one stretched-out measure that could be easily compressed.
I wish to compress one or more of the streted-out measures so that the last measure of the verse will fit on the same page. As of now, the last measure appears on a second page.
How might I compress those stretched-out measures? Thanks.

Try scaling: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/score-size-and-spacing#scaling
Also, check that you haven’t inadvertently added line breaks to the “stretched out” measures - it’s easily done.
