Piano Pedal Playback
Hi,
I have tried various notations for pedal markings, and none of them seem to make any difference to the playback of the piano? The sustain pedal markings don't have any difference on the sustain of the chords, and I don't entirely understand why?
Any advice appreciated!

Please post a score. But if you are sustaining a chord with the pedal, and have the other hand playing notes? I don't think that works.

I've attached a score - neither of these bars (with any pedal notation) sustains the chord more than it does without pedal notation. Not sure if maybe I've not got a setting on or something?

No, you attached a picture, not a score

Oops, clicked the wrong file to upload - here is the actual score (only an example of how I'm trying to use pedalling).

Well, you've attached an image, not a score. Anyway, if you are holding the first measure for four counts, why do you need the pedal? Make that first note a quarter note and you'll see that the pedal does work.

The semibreve with pedal and the semibreve without pedal sound identical to the crotchet with pedal - when playing a 'real' piano, the pedal makes a different timbre of sound, and this is what I'm trying to achieve - I guess this resonance isn't achievable with the soundfonts and playback on Musescore then?

I guess not.
