Harp fingering brackets in Musescore 4.2.1xxxxxx

I have searched and found that in previous releases you could apply a hook to a line to make a harp fingering bracket. I cannot find anything like this in Musescore 4.

I am looking for a line that can be displayed horizontally as well as "angled" so that it can incline or decline to be approximately parallel to the notes. The line must have hook ends on it.

That is, when in the treble clef, the lines are displayed above the notes with the hooks going down. In the bass clef they are displayed below the notes with the hooks going up.

They look like Lines -> Pedal (straight hooks) when in the bass clef except they need to be able to angle parallel to the note progression rather than being perfectly horizontal.

I have also found a similar line in Arpeggios & glissandi -> Bracket arpeggios except those are vertical.

Where are these lines I need located? It seems things moved around in the most recent release of Musescore such that there is no more "inspector" like I've read about in previous releases where the hooks could be found and I'm concerned that the hook settings have been lost. I hope I'm just not finding them.

Please advise.

In the lines pallet there is a plain line with no hooks. Add that and then look in the Properties Panel in the Appearance section and you should see a variety of hooks that can be applied to the line. The line's endpoints can be dragged up or down. When you have something to your liking you can CTRL+SHIFT+Drag it to a palette so that it can be re-used.

Thank you! I had actually tried "Lines" before and had seen I could angle it, but I couldn't find the hooks. My real problem wasn't that I didn't have "Properties" because it wasn't checked in "View." I got that and found the hooks.

I'm really struggling trying to add it to the palette, but at least I can create one and copy it.

Some tips for adding to a palette.

Check that your target palette is enabled for editing - click on the three dots to the right if uts name to see that
Ensure you hold down CTRL+SHIFT before you click and hold down the left mouse button to do the drag.
The cursor will show "no entry" until you drag to a location that can accept a drop.

Thank you for the additional information. Sometime after I sent my previous reply last night, I was able to add to a palette and I didn't know why. I had made sure that editing was enabled so I knew it wasn't that. When I saw your reply today, I'm fairly convinced that my problem was the CTRL+SHIFT before the click and drag, but I can't be sure. It makes reasonable sense that I had done it out of order a bunch of times and then accidentally started doing it correctly not knowing that. But, now that I know, I for sure can do it right every time.

I'm also so glad that I found the "Properties" view. It's something I will use for lots of things and store them in the palettes.
