Shortcut of the note duration (Number 5 for quarter note, number 4 for 8th note, etc.) don't work, I tried to revert to factory settings but this problem keeps occurring

If You mean Numpad numbers, it works only on Linux.
Standard numbers should work.

You mean out of the box. With some effort it works for Windows too

For me, the number pad numbers (and the typewriter numbers, obviously) work with no effort, straight outta the box. ???

JoJo - When you say 'with some effort' on Windows what do you mean? My MS4.2.1 on Win10 using the Numeric Keyboard worked out of the box, in terms of changing note durations. Also, note that Num Lock ON vs. OFF changes the function of these keys, not sure if the OP was varying this or what the OS was?

Every single time I just leave the score there for a while without quitting the software, when I reopen the score, the Num no longer works.
